Cruise through a galactic trip-scape with Justice in the new video for On’n'On
Even before I read the description for Alex Winston’s new video, I knew it was shot in Detroit. Either that, or on a sound stage. MAN, that city looks DIRE. This song is called Choice Notes, and it actually manages to cheer the place up a bit. Keep an eye on Alex Winston this year!
Hudson – Against the Grain is a catchy tune with an awesome video. The words “impressive” and “painstaking” come to mind… Also “superviral”, as these things tend to be.
Remember that time Vinny Cha$e and Ninjasonik sampled Smash Mouth? Yeah, it was awesome

Shirock – Still Young
Video produced by Paper Beats Rock, apparently the same minds behind Boyfriends, and therefore their immortal Donkey Kong Country Rap.
Just kidding! Forget that title, here’s just 10 videos that come to mind. Check out this jumbo-sized list, I promise it doesn’t have Gucci Gucci on it.
Lovett – Eye of the Storm
This is just a gorgeous video that I forgot to post in February. If you dig it, be sure to check out the equally-eye-blasting behind the scenes video for it.
SALEM – Till The World Ends
Salem kept it real this year with a great video for KING NIGHT, but the video for their screwed-up Britney Spears track is a masterpiece. Till the World Ends‘ grainy night vision footage of strippers and combat operations is about as apropos as it gets for this tune.
A non-existent video for Waka Flocka Flame – Round of Applause…
Shoot! Did I imagine this? I thought there was a ridiculous video for this track. Things all wobblin’ out of control, Flocka just standing there in the background. When I put it that way, it sounds likely that I did just imagine this. I’ll substitute it for Lady – Twerk, which is just as absurd.
2011 was a way literal year for music videos.
Lil B – Got the Mack Loaded
Just when I thought I had Lil B figured out, he goes and puts on his “grandma errings” (sic.)
Machine Gun Kelly – Wild Boy (feat. Waka Flocka Flame)
I’m not big on the tune, but holy moly is this video ever a work of art. Cancel the Oscars and just air the magnificent intro to this video on a constant loop in its place. I haven’t seen “white dude trippin” like this since back when Nelly was making videos.

At 2:40, the bit leading into Flocka’s verse is my favorite music video moment of 2011. Brilliant.
MY ACTUAL FAVORITE VIDEOS OF THE YEAR
2011 was a fantastic year in music, and the videos did not disappoint. Here are my top videos of the year for real doe. I already posted them all, because that’s how the site works, so I’ll keep it brief!
The Death Set – It’s Another Day
Wild Flag – Romance
Neon Hitch – No Hands
Major Lazer – Original Don
The Death Set – Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap
There it is! At the start of 2011, I would not have guessed that Waka Flocka would be so well represented in my list of most notable music videos of 2011. Happy new year!
Christmas holidays have afforded me a bit of time to finally (hopefully) catch up on the backlog of stuff I’ve been meaning to post.

Tori Blake is a pop singer/songwriter from Orange County, whose single, Young Wild & Free got a pretty good remix treatment from Atlanta’s SPNCRxRNDY. Peep that below.

TALL SHIPS!!

Leicester’s Dark Dark Horse recently released a remix of Tall Ships – Hit the Floor. You can check that out on FADER Magazine’s Soundcloud page, because they don’t allow embedding (get it together, FADER).
Friendly Fires‘ music video for Hurting will either have you bursting out laughing or saying WTF within the first 15 seconds.
Hurting comes off of the band’s most recent album Pala.
The tune is excellent and the video is definitely a must-see.
Enjoy your Holidays people!
