Hello Ween

by Joyce on Oct.31, 2008

Halloween do you know how much I love you? You would actually be the perfect holiday if everyone had the day off to celebrate your wonderful event.

For all those who don’t love Halloween, get yourself checked. Seriously.

So this end of weeks banger has to obviously exude Halloween and keep you pumped for the entire week even when Friday is long and gone. There are definitely a lot of songs out there for keep you exited for Halloween but usually it’s a song that resembles something like the monster mash…or just an instrumental of some sort with some spooky noises in the background. Ofcourse we have the classics but we want something to keep us going for the entire weekend people!

What is my suggestion you ask? Well, my wonderful tune for this amazing weekend is Wolf like me by TV on the radio.

this song comes off of TV on the radios third album called return to cookie mountain. You should definitely go check it out.

This song came out way back in 06 but it’s just right to get us pumped for Friday and then keep us going for the rest of the weekend as well.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE.
live it, breathe it and enjoy it.

Then mark your calendars so you can do it again next year =)!

That’s it for me.

Let’s get thrilled

Oh Friday, won’t you come just a lil bit faster?

Now, how will we get mellow and ready for the weekend? Well with a brand new banger of course!

I know you’re all excited to see what my suggestion is so I’ll just say it…

This weekend’s jam is Empire of the sun’s Walking on a dream. It’s kinda calming but makes you want to sing along and groove to it(I’m binging back the word groove).
All in all, a perfect mix for the weekend.

The song comes off of Empire of the sun’s debut album entitled…well it’s called walking on a dream. So I guess it’s easy for you guys to remember it now :) .

That’s it for me,
Asta luego

Also: HI DUNCAN! How’s Europe? Is it like walking on a dream :P ( see what I did there?)

a lad aflare, jibbing jetlag

by DMack on Oct.17, 2008

This is my last post for a few weeks as I’m heading to London (, England. as seen in A Clockwork Orange.) for some overseas hustlin’. Leaving only the girls to look after our beloved weekend banger blog, I know it’s in good hands. Did you get a chance to listen to their picks for this weekend? THOSE TRACKS GO HARD, FAM!

It’s my duty to draw still another banger to your attention this weekend; NIGHT COURT, by Mux Mool. Mux Mool is an Electro / Hip Hop / Experimental artist from Brooklyn, so says his damn myspace, and Night Court sounds like exactly that. The track is available on the Ghostly Swim compilation, which you can download for free from the Adult Swim website.

Embedding the song like this is probably going to get me in trouble, so go listen to it on myspace if you can.

T.G.I.F.

by Annie on Oct.17, 2008

SOOO nervous to post! I chose something on the safe side for this weekend but hey, it’s my first time at this thing. So I present to you, M.I.A. vs Bonde Do Role- Bucky Solta O Frango. Bonde Do Role is a Brazilian band that produces funky electronic Brazilian beats (think CSS). I’m sure most of the general public has heard of M.I.A. before but did you know she’s pregnant? Well congrats to her. Here’s my pick (BE NICE OK)

Early and ready.

Tuesday banger surprise!! Don’t you just love Tuesdays? Perfect, now enjoy it some more with this:

Usually I don’t find weekend bangers so quickly but sometimes they just show themselves to me so unwillingly. They just pop out in front me and say ‘ HEY! I’m the weekend banger’

My tasteful suggestion for this end of week’s tune is the G.L.O.V.E.S remix of Changes by Van She,

The original song comes from Van she’s debut album ‘V’ which you can go buy on itunes or walk to a music store and do it the old fashioned way.

The G.L.O.V.E.S do a pretty sweet rendition of the song and that is why it is my weekend banger.

Enjoy =):

Cheerleaders and evil creatures from the night

I was SAVAGELY busy this week and I didn’t get to elect a proper banger for this weekend, but this will have to do in its stead.

Er body got herpes

by Joyce on Oct.09, 2008

It’s Thursday and the song of the weekend has already presented itself to me.
I must warn that this song is very dangerous to sing out loud in public.

My jam for the weekend is On the train by Theater of Disco.

This song is just so awesome that it’s been on repeat since I’ve heard it! This band definitely should be getting more recognition and I suggest you all go explore and listen to some of their other stuff.

P.s: I hope you all sing this on the train.
P.p.s: There are no trains in Ottawa
P.p.p.s: Well there is the Otrain…but only people with herpes are on it.

Louder please.

What makes a good banger? Well for one it’s gotta have a groove. If it makes you nod your head then chances are it’s a weekend jam.

So, my weekend banger is Kid Cudi’s Dat New New.

Sometimes you gotta have that second weekend song. It aint all about the repeat button.
peace.

HEY!

by DMack on Oct.04, 2008

Good evening, all you beautiful PEOPLE! This is my inaugural post on our brand new WEEKEND BANGERS blog. The idea for weekend bangers came up over the summer, during which we picked out a different themesong for each and every weekend. We decided to share the wealth and publish our picks online.

My nomination for this weekend is Spearhead’s “Say Hey (I Love You)“, off their new album, ALL REBEL ROCKERS. Summer already dipped and we’re staring in the eyes of Winter 2008. More like winter two-thousand-GREAT. Keep warm with some ill new reggae.

Welcome to weekend Bangers a site devoted to picking a specific song to represent the end of the week.

I’m really bad at this whole introduction thing so…er…enjoy the fine tunage suggestions.

P.S: This site is under major construction since we just created it 10 seconds ago.[Insert digging man picture here]
