Thanks-birth-day
by Joyce on Nov.28, 2008
It’s my birthday! Thank you, thank you you’re all so kind with your b-day wishes. I am now the legal age of 18 (legal in most regions around the world).
I share my birthday with another day that brings joy and food to people. Thanksgiving, for Americans.
I hope you are all stuffing your face with turkey and birthday cake in my honor.
Now, how do we celebrate this wonderful day of the year? Well we have 2 options, both are great. But let’s concentrate on the weekend banger option. It’s time to have the most fun possible. With exams creeping up slowly we won’t have another chance until they’re over!
So, because I’m just so giving on my own birthday, my gift to you is the treasure fingers with a dash of chromeo love. Let’s cross the dancefloor.
**BONUS SONG** cause it’s my birthday
I’m cool if you’re cool
by Joyce on Nov.23, 2008
Does anyone even remember this week? Man, it went by so fast! And it’s a good thing it did go by fast cause the weekend couldn’t have come any sooner.
I thought it would be appropriate therefore to announce this weekends banger.
The Cool Kids released their new album recently and it has some fine tunes that you may want to go check out.
So, let’s all enjoy this weekend with a banger called What up man by the Cool Kids.
21 day mac dre weekend banger rememberence
by Annie on Nov.23, 2008
Hey guys, Ben would really me to inform all you readers out there about our good friend Mac Dre (July 5, 1970 – November 1, 2004). Today is only 21 days away from the anniversary of his death, so just thizz out, and listen to a few choice bangers from a musician who’s gotten us through some tough times.
I’m glad I could include Ben, he was telling me how hurt he is feeling about not being a poster here. I’M GLAD I COULD STOP YOUR TEARS BEN.
don’t tell me what cannot be done

I’m a bit late but it’s still Sunday which means it’s still the weekend. Last week I picked out a country bannger (SO WHAT). This week, a banjo banger…I promise you it’s not awful! I love this song and I love the man who wrote and performs it. Let’s give it up for the talented Sufjan Stevens showing some love to the lakes of Canada.
A problem we’ve all had
by DMack on Nov.15, 2008
“I still don’t know how to inflate my dunks”. This shameful confession punctuates the hook of my chosen banger for this week. I’m speaking of course of “Bill Cosby Sweater (Hostage remix)” by OH SNAP!! I wish I could tell you something about the song or the artist but I know very little about the matter. This is actually the second time an OH SNAP!! track has been given the much-sought-after title of Weekend Banger. Joyce brought another wonderful song to my attention before we started this blog, something about booties and ringing alarms – it helped score a very enjoyable weekend, and I hope to do the same this weekend with Bill Cosby Sweater (Hostage remix): a jam that truly is as colorful as the sweaters mentioned therein. Enjoy.
Mellowin’ out
by Joyce on Nov.14, 2008
These days have nothing on us, it’s time to just lay back, grab a bag of sun chips and just relax. Let’s all chill, take the weekend one step at a time.
Stress? What’s stress? Let’s all soften up with some fine tunes that’ll help us relax and enjoy this weekend.
My suggestion for a fine mellow banger is by Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker,or simply USS. A band fresh out of Toronto who were actually here in Ottawa on Thursday for the WTF concert series hosted at the live lounge by live 88.5(an alternative station here in Ottawa for those who don’t know).
The title is catchy just as the song is addictive. It’s called Porno Star Trek and it’s my fine suggestion for this weekends’ chilled times.
Enjoy the weekend!
I know I will, I already have my sunchips.
Weekend love
by Joyce on Nov.08, 2008
Aren’t we all excited? I know I am because the weekend just makes the whole world so much more happy that you just want to break into song.
But what song? Ah, well glad you asked even though you probably didn’t.
This weekend’s banger comes from an excellently titled band named Starfucker.
The song is German love and it will have you singing for the rest of the week I can assure you.
So, I’ll give it to you.
Enjoy my lovers.
Guess who’s back, back, back
by DMack on Nov.08, 2008
WELLP. I can tell this blog’s gone straight to hell in my absence. Just kidding! I checked out the Halloween weekend bangers; so good it’s scary (Sup Annie, Sup Joyce). I just got back from a bit of a jaunt to Europe. Last week I got a chance to see a Drum & Bass DJ called Pdex. DJ Pdex (Poindexter) was supporting Enter Shikari at London’s Mean Fiddler / Astoria 2 bar. He absolutely destroyed with his set, and I picked one of the songs to continue banging through this weekend.
This weekend, it’ll be all about TC’s “Driver”. I think the sample used is Buju Banton’s “Driver A” – I recognized the bit about a Nextel phone.
Excuse the weird photo they used for the youtube thing.
Friday Morning Banger
by Annie on Nov.07, 2008
Good morning! I wanted to submit this banger before I started another grueling 10 hour day at school. I’m sure everyone has heard of Johnny Cash, though I’m certain everyone isn’t a fan of him or his music. Or just country music for the matter. But not me! The other day I watched Walk the Line and absolutely adored Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix’s version of Jackson and I’ve been listening to it non-stop for the past couple days. So whether you’re a fan of country music or not here it is, my weekend banger pick:
the beat!
by Annie on Nov.01, 2008
It’s Halloween! A day that happens once a year that lets you get away with dressing up as something/someone you’re not. Unfortunately my weekend banger pick has nothing to do with Halloween except for all the people crazily dressed up in the video. Plus I don’t know any other Halloween related songs except for the Monster Mash. So what I’ve picked out is Beat Control by Tilly and the Wall. This song was playing on repeat in my head the whole day today so it was an obvious choice for me. Tilly and the Wall doesn’t have a percussionist but instead they have tap dancers! I’ve seen them once in concert and they were so cute. The song itself isn’t brand new or something amazingly spectacular but it is awfully catchy. And remember it’s Friday, relax.
