I hope everyone had a great Christmas ( if you celebrate it ), and if not, then I hope you’re all enjoying your holiday break.

I don’t have much to say cause I’m so tired so I guess I’ll just go right to the point.

My weekend banger is Oh! ( danger remix) by Boys Noize

Now I’m going to go to bed =)zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Countdown to Christmas: 5 exciting days

Now, how am I going to relate this song to Christmas?…hm…GOT IT. YES!

So, the holiday season has started and the television networks are clearly doing their part in spreading the Christmas joy with their classic holiday shows like Rudolph the red nose reindeer and a Charlie Brown Christmas.

Speaking of Charlie Brown, my weekend banger is called Charlie brown (Dj Mehdi remix feat. Mapei) by Ghostface killah. ( see what I did there? )

Now, I wasn’t always a fan of remixes cause I was always persuaded that the originals were better. However, a quality remix is a quality remix and you can’t help but jam.

NIGHTDRIVE… WITH YOU!

by on Dec.20, 2008

This weekend is a very special one! I know I say that every weekend, but this Sunday is the WINTER SOLSTICE. The WINTER SOLSTICE, SONS! For those of you who are not up on your Pagan/Druid/Farmers’ Almanac reading; that means the LONGEST NIGHT of the year.

Of course I don’t need to remind you: THE NIGHT TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME.

The longest night of the year is a prime excuse to do some NIGHT DRIVING. (as if you need an excuse..) It’ll be dark out there, so make sure you’ve got lots of pink and green neon lights, and a good set of high beams on your Testarossa.

My pick this week is Loose Shus – Threesome. It’s a bit like Kavinsky in a “future sound of the past” kind of way.

So, Annie and Joyce, what do you think? Does “Threesome” sound good to you too? WHAT.

Since the nights will be so long this weekend, and since it seems fashionable to do so, here’s a bonus banger. Take the long way home on your night drive.
The Outrunners – These Girls Are Dressed To Kill (Russ Chimes remix)

untitled

by on Dec.16, 2008

Hi, remember me? I apologize for letting Joyce and Duncan down, as well as our biggest fan Ben for not posting what feels like a month or more. You guys will have to forgive me because I was this -> <- close to killing myself just to avoid the mega stresses of school. I was spending 12 hours days 5 days a week at school and worrying about everything. Thankfully winter break couldn't have come at a better time so the banger I've chosen (a little late, I know) is Gravity Rides Everything by Modest Mouse. It's pretty much about letting life ride out and everything will be where it's supposed to be.

So, why should I choose? I’ll just share them all with you. I’m just that generous. I won’t place them in any specific order of preference…

This week we got a misc of dancing and grooving mixes. I got 2 more exams to go so I gotta get PUMPED. And well, you have to get pumped for life :P

1. Let’s finish by Kudu ( Sinden remix)

2. Cold Dust Girl – Hey Champ

3. 3am – ThunderKatz

4. O…Saya – M.I.A and A.R Rahman

This song is in a recent movie called slumdog millionaire. I want to see it, and so do you.

You like?

BEGIN THE HOLIDAY BANGERS

by on Dec.06, 2008

It’s the HOLIDAY SEASON, my chippies! And what is a holiday but an extended weekend? Times such as this call for bangers of extreme potency. Joyce has been PRESSURING me to post a banger this week, and I was this close to posting something by Lil Wayne to get her off my BACK, but I’ve got something better.

Given that it’s now DECEMBER; I submit for your bangulation this weekend not one song, but an entire ALBUM. By now I think it’s obvious I’m referring to Boney M – Christmas Album (1981). If you haven’t heard it before, prepare to have your entire face destroyed by Christmas cheer.

Don’t miss “Oh my lord” at 4:00
Other tracks are all over youtube.

And if you hate this, maybe I’ll keep posting Christmas songs all MONTH. WHAT UP.

Busy but no worries

by on Dec.04, 2008

If you’re a student like myself then you are probably getting ready for your exams. I’m posting on a Wednesday cause I will be busy ALL WEEK. Seriously. All week.
I’m not over exaggerating either.

Anyways, the weekend banger has presented itself to me early which allows me to post early either way. I present you with a song by the fleet foxes. This song is just so…It’s just so soothing and well, it’s delicious for keeping you on track and pulling yourself back up when things get a little stressful.

I do encourage all of you to go and check out more from the fleet foxes.
While you’re at it, get yourself into some other nice folk genres.

Without further ado, here is Blue Ridge Mountains by the fleet foxes.

That’s it for me.
Goodluck with your exams…if you have them. And if not, then just have a great day =)
