IT PUTS THE LOTION IN THE BASKET!!
by DMack on Feb.28, 2009
Ahoy, chumps! I have a bunch of songs to post, and not a lot to say. Lucky you!
It looks as though the winter weather is hanging out for a little while longer. The days are still chilly and dry; so dry, in fact, that you need to.. RUB LOTION ONTO YOUR SKIN? NICE SEGUE. FIRST SONG:
Garden Party, by 64revolt. I don’t have a video for it, but you can download the mp3 for free on the song’s Lastfm page. Bargain!
I don’t know if I have any real videos to post, so here’s a groovy 10-minute long live version of Primus‘ Southbound Pachyderm. They’ve got the actual claymation music video playing in the background.
NEW FEATURE: ‘Tape Talk
I tried to talk to ben about mixtapes this week but he would have NONE OF IT. Anyway, my favorite tape of the moment is Drake‘s So Far Gone. You (Ben) can download the mixtape at GetRightMusic. Or more likely, you can listen to some of the tracks on youtube:
- HoustAtlantaVegas
- November 18th
- Unstoppable (with Lil Wanye & Santigold) – “I belong right where you see me // ain’t on the fence about it, I ain’t Mister Feeny.”
I’ll just type the names of the rest of the songs now:
Looptroop – The Building – from the aptly-named album Good Things.
Dr. Zilog – Kids – a chiptune cover of the MGMT song.
Skindred – We Want – Unity is what we need a lot
And Then There Were None – The Hospital – I bet these guys look like total idiots. I hope I never have to see their haircuts.
AIGHT, that’s enough for now. Enjoy yourselves.

Yesss, reading week is finally here.
Let me celebrate with my reading week jammers. It’s a little hard to see the titles with my super ~~ASIAN-KAWAII~~ mp3 player, so in order we have I Lost My Colour Vision by Burning Hearts, My Protector by Fleet Foxes (as recommended to me by my classmate Karla) and a modern classic, Buddy Holly by Weezer (do you remember the music video of this song on your win95 computers? I certainly do). Other than that I don’t have much more to say, enjoy your week and I’ll enjoy my reading week.
Unproductive but Jammin’
by Joyce on Feb.21, 2009
Wow my entire reading week was completely unproductive. Told myself I would read up and catch up on everything but seems I ended up jammin’ out instead. Oh well.
My weekend banger is Frankmusik’s When You’re Around (boys noize remix).
Keeping it short and sweet this week.
( I’m really tired )
THE RIDDIM I LIKE!!!!!!
by DMack on Feb.21, 2009
Good evening, boy and girls! I have a bunch of snazzy times for you, and not a lot to say. To lemme get into it, and do it how I do it.
Ben and I had a lengthy discussion last night about the new Dr. Dre/TI/Nas track, and the new Grizzly Bear/Feist track. Dre doesn’t even have a verse on “Topless”, so we couldn’t reach a decision about who killed whom, nor which track to name posse cut of the month. Moving right along… My FEATURE this week, (aka the one I post at the top) is a Prodigy track called Stand Up. It’s off their new album “Invaders Must Die”, and it’s kind of the outro but it bangs right along.
edit: BLOOOOD CLOOOOOOOT!!! Youtube took the video down. listen to it at hypemachine isntead.
and some other fings!
ADF – Burning Fence – Actually I meant to post this awesome live version of Riddim I Like
Tat – Champagne, Cocaine & Strawberries
Hey Champ – Face Control – the Hood Internet did a remix of this and it’s FIERCE so LISTEN to it.
This jam by Potty Umbrella which I don’t even know the name of
Wale – Chillin’ – produced by Cool & Dre, apparently the album version will feature Lady Gaga.. just putting that out there
The rest of the links I was thinking of got removed already. JEEZ!
Until next week; never give up on the good times. Livin’ it up is a state of miiiiind.

To make up for my lack of posts, I’m doing what all the cool kids are doing. Multiple bangers. Lately I’ve been spending waaaaay too much time at school stressin’ over this and that. But a wise person advised me to listen to some ‘whale music’…I didn’t quite know what sort of music she meant so I’m opting for the next best thing. Ambiance or music I like to sleep to, stuff that totally relaxes you. So here is my pick of Sigur Ros’ goobledigook (I thought it said goobleDICK at first)
No matter how much I try to avoid it, reminders of it is always around. Yes, I am talking about V-Day. Do you remember in elementary school when you bought Valentine’s Day cards for your classmates and then there were those kids that you didn’t really like and didn’t want to give cards to but had to so you just gave them the uglier looking cards?…Anyways my point is do you remember where they all are now? Exactly. Valentine’s day, the big stinkin’ corporate holiday only looking out to cash in. Now I don’t even know how this song relates but it makes me feel better about being single on this stupid scam of a ‘holiday’.
btw, don’t forget that you are all loved and wanted and you don’t need a stupid corporate holiday to make you question it. and yes, even you ben.

Hooray for spring break!
I’m sure everyone is just as excited as I am for this long awaited 1 week of pure relentless fun and, musical jams of course.
For those who don’t have spring break…I’m sorry. But moving on.
Every time I hear something good I make a list and take note of what I should download. However with school and life, I’ve had absolutely no time to get any of the songs off my list so I’ve found that the list just keeps getting longer and longer as the great songs just keep adding up. So, we definitely have to poke some holes in that list to let the pressure out.
Half of the stuff on my list are actually weekend bangers that I never even got a chance to post.
So, in honor of this super long weekend, here is a list of weekend jams that both you and I need to go get.
To start off, this is the song that is on the top of my list, so far. Heard this song yesterday actually and I’ve been listening to it all day since. Definitely the right groove that you need to kick off your spring break. The band is called X & Hell and their song is called Shades Off.
For some reason I thought that I had already posted this as a weekend banger but it obviously seems that I haven’t…strange. Well I’ve been listening to this song all week long anyways, so this just proves that Nice Fox by The Rosebuds still has it’s place as being a weekend banger.
You might also remember that I posted a remix by the twelves of the virgins’ song rich girls. Well here are the Twelves with their own song called Works for me.
Also, if you guys are Röyksopp fans then you are probably already hyped about their new album entitled Junior. Thus making this their third album to date, so to celebrate, here is something off of that very album.
Happy up here has already spanned many remixes but we don’t care about the remixes, we want to hear the original gold.
Now, I remember I wanted to post this song by Tommy Sparks but because they disabled the embedding of all the song’s music videos available on youtube, I decided no to post it anymore. However a banger’s a banger so I can’t ignore it. You can go watch and listen directly from youtube here.
Psstt Duncan, he has Tim & Eric as #1 in his top 40 friends on his myspace
I would also like to add that I’m sorry about this sloppy post. Everything is kind of just scattered everywhere and you must forgive me cause my head is just super fogged up right now.
Anyways, that’s it for me. I’m going to go sleep for 3 days straight now. zzzzzzz
FIRE PON DEM! WE RUN T’INGS!!!!!
by DMack on Feb.13, 2009
This has been kind of a weird week. It snowed in the middle of February — Ontario people, this ain’t about you so cool your jets. I’m hoping the roads will be clear tomorrow when I’m driving up to Nanaimo. In an effort to ward off any unseasonable flakes, let’s bang some positive and/or tropical jams this weekend.
My first jamout tonight is DJ Krush – Aletheuo (feat. Angelina Esparza)
I’ll warn you right now, I don’t think I have any hard electronica to post this weekend, so you might not feel the usual urge to jump up on a table and start getting ridiculous, but I think you’ll enjoy it nonetheless. I picked up some new albums the other day so expect some next time.
Round 2 is the video for Chairlift‘s Evident Utensil. This video intentionally uses compression artifacts to create an insane visual effect that really seems to suit the song.
Chairlift – Evident Utensil
Sample everything on the dessert menu:
Lutan Fyah – Screaming From the Poor
Akeboshi – Yellow Bird – “I have stories to tell you tonight.”
Junior Gong – Road to Zion (feat. Nas)
I’m not going to post the live version of S.L.U. from the Grammys, and I’m not going to post anything off the Lonely Island album because I feel like I’ve ~set a tone~ and I’m quite content to just let it go.
BLESS UP, MI BREDERIN! ALL SEXY GALDEM! ALL RUDEBOY MANDEM! BLESS UP!!
Metal Banger
by Joyce on Feb.09, 2009
I’ve just come to realize that there have been no metal bangers! How could I have let this happen? Well I clearly have to fix this sad situation.
That’s right, I have a metal banger for you all.
My metal head roots have been coming back this week, so I had to go back in time to dig this fine piece out. How far back in time you ask? All the way back to 1995 to be exact.
The song is Moonshield by In Flames.
The song comes off of their second album entitled The Jester Race which I highly encourage everyone to check out if for some reason you haven’t already. Definitely a favorite for all those In Flames fans out there.
The lyrics are good and so is the music. And that my friends, is why it’s my weekend banger.
Enjoy.
I’m sure everyone has a little room in their dark hearts for a little metal.
Grow your hair long people then swing it around. Thank you.
TWEETERS ONLY!!!!!
by DMack on Feb.07, 2009
Happy Friday, from the bottom of my heart and the top of my lungs. I’m at my dear mom’s house for the weekend and her computer’s got tiny little laptop-style tincan speakers built into the monitor. I’ll be gosh-darned if you can get any bass out of these McDeals! I don’t have a post prepared this week because I’ve been busy with a new JOB and whatnot. Lil Wayne put out fifty more songs but I’ll SPARE YOU. Actually, peep game;
Walter Meego recently released a video for his immortal banger “Girls“. The video has two dapper compatriots walking around town, using Harry-Potter magic to conjure up gusts of wind that blow the clothing off of every girl they encounter. Hooo boy, I know exactly what that’s like.
Drive slow, homies.
