OFF THE WALL LIKE RACQUETBALL!!
by DMack on May.30, 2009
Peep what I say: This has been an exhausting-ass week. As usual I was going hard at work, giving 115% and listening to meaty cuts of music all day long. I’ve got to mention the video I’m playing right now as I’m typing this; Kaki King doing a live performance at the TED conference. I never really paid attention to Kaki King’s work before, I actually thought that was the name of her band until I saw just the one girl on stage.
Kaki King – Live @ TED 2008 – The video has something for everyone; A short woman that cracks jokes for Joyce, purple shoes for Annie, and shredding on guitar for me, I guess. ..oh and lots of closeups of her hands for Ben (WHAT).
Here’s the video for Numéro# – Tout est Parfait
Darn right, the sun is out and tout EST parfait.
Here’s Röyksopp – The Girl And The Robot, because I like girls and robots. So obvious.
OVER AND ABOVE
The Orion Experience – Obsessed With You – This is silly-catchy and silly-cute. I would never have fuxed with this in highschool, I’ve come a long way.
Joker’s Daughter – Worm’s Head
The Silverust – Racquetball – This entry’s eponymous bangout. I heard it when ChiCityMan went to a Bulls game. The web is a fascinating place.
Asher Roth – Y.O.U (feat. Slick Rick)
I’m not sure when to properly use semi-colons, but my experience as a programmer has me thinking there’s never a bad time for a semi-colon.;
THIS FEELING’S ALL I NEED!!

Hey young world, wanna hear some music?
Tonight’s first thing is by N.A.S.A. It’s called Gifted (Steve Aoki remix feat. Kanye, Santigold & Lykke Li). For some things in life there are no words, so let’s just enjoy the music in eachother’s company.
The Hood Internet also did a raw mix with Dialogue Inc., you can check that magic out here.
And a double-shot of Dizzee Rascal; check out Dance Wiv Me (Shazam remix feat. Calvin Harris & Chrome) (via hypemachine)
and Bonkers (feat. Armand Van Helden) on youchube:
THEN HIT’EM WITH THE YA’MEEN
Mr. Hudson – Supernova (feat. Kanye West)
Maino – All the Above (remix feat. Young Jeezy) – This one’s for Ben
Drake – Still Drake – off his “Friends With Money” mixtape, which has some big fire and a few misses.
That’ll do! At ease.
They’ve All Got Rhythm
by Joyce on May.22, 2009
The song This Rhythm by the Filthy Dukes is a really great tune that I’ve been listening to for awhile but DAMN Fred Falke you genius.
I don’t even know how many times I’ve posted a Fred Falke remix but I assure you this won’t be the last. The following song is just purely a weekend banger no questions asked.
You can listen to original here.
Filthy Dukes – This Rhythm (Fred Falke Remix)
In an earlier post I posted an mp3 for I’m Not Your Toy by La Roux. Well I got a nice new electropop song by them that is not likely to disappoint. The Foamo remix of Bulletproof is mouthwatering or eargasmic? ya I totally made that word up.
You Can listen to the orginal here.

MORE TREATS
I think I have Carpal Tunnel
by Annie on May.22, 2009
I’m feeling greedy here posting another banger but it’s actually the weekend for real now so I think it’s OK. This time around I only have one track and I definitely have a theme with my posts.
1.) I really like covers
2.) I really like soft vocals (usually female) that can put you to sleep
This is Taken by Tree’s cover of Sweet Child O’ Mine.

Well well well, look who it is…that’s right, your least favourite weekend-banger poster is back(ish). Although it’s the middle of the week right now I can’t help but the weekend vibe. Today was a pretty monumental day for me, I wrote half of my licensing examination. Can’t say I aced it but I think I did alright, enough rambling it’s not as if anyone asked to hear or know about it right. SO, I think I’ve accumulated a couple great tracks during my hiatus. First off a little something from M83, Kim and Jessie, an awesome track for the summer days coming up real quick.
Side note: I first heard of M83 many years ago on Much Music’s show The Wedge. It was a Friday late night show so it fit in perfectly with my oh so social high schooler schedule.
We Own The Sky is another pretty neat track from the same album.
Beck’s Lost Cause is another banger I’ve grown quite fond of.
aaand just because I can:
Enjoy the rest of your week.
LONG WEEKEND HEAT!
by DMack on May.16, 2009
WELL NOW. Let’s have some jams, then. Here’s “Baby, Baby, Baby“, by Make The Girl Dance. I think it’s a pretty good video.
I bet I know all the lyrics by now :V
Last week I got the new Crystal Method album, called Divided By Night. It’s loaded with heaters so I’ll give you the titular first track to generate some HYPE.
The Crystal Method – Divided By Night
I also picked up the new Dub Pistols recently. It’s called Rum & Coke. It has fire on it like this: Dub Pistols – Back to Daylight (feat. Ashley Slater). There’s a really good song on it called Revitalize, but I couldn’t find it online to share. Sooooo you’ll have to pick up the album I guess! COP THAT TAPE.
I NEED TO GO GET A SANDWICH NOW
Hov, Ye, Wayne – Go Hard (remix) – From Kanye’s “LV & Autotune vol. 2” Mixtape, features Wayne’s verse from the original song.
DJ Class – I’m the Shit (remix feat. Kanye West) – from the same mixtape. Been a while since I posted a club slam!
Okay, I’m off! Big hugs!
My rifle and me
by Joyce on May.16, 2009
On my little adventure to Toronto my ‘business trip’ lead me to listen to this awesome metal/techno genre that totally pumped me up. I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s kind of like grindcore/deathcore either way it’s totally money.
Upon my arrival back home I got to work trying to find more songs like that and I fell upon Combichrist. Totally diggin’ them. This type of industrial metal just makes me want to dance and head bash at the same time. Double combo.
There’s honestly an entire list of songs that I want to make you guys listen to but you’ll just have to check out their myspace or just buy their album. Totally worth it if you’re looking for some awesome industrial metal.
The song I have chosen to share with you is This Is My Rifle by Combichrist ofcourse.
Did I ever tell you about the time I was suppose to go see Whitechapel but had to wake up for my exam the next morning so I never went? Yes, I know it’s the saddest story you’ve ever heard.
Anyhow…
Whitechapel – Possession off the album This Is Exile.
You will give your rifle a girl’s name, cause this is the only pussy you guys are going to get.
Happy weekend.
CANADA ONLY!!!!
by DMack on May.08, 2009
Okay WHAT is up. This week’s post is a special all-Canadian edition, because that’s what I feel like doing right now. The main mess I want to share with you today comes from CBC Radio 1′s Vinyl Cafe. It’s not one, but actually FOUR jams, or what I like to call a quadro-bangulation. Vinyl Cafe shows always showcase talented Canadian artists, and quite often they even get a few to perform ALL-THE-WAY LIVE in between the acts of Stuart Mclean’s original-gangsta stories.
Reid Jamieson – Fields of Gold (Live: Vinyl Cafe July 5th, 2008 -”The Train Show”, ) – At different times during this recording, you can hear a faint creaking sound because this song was performed inside a moving train car. Don’t try to tell me that’s not indie out the butt.
Nathan – The Wind (Live: Vinyl Cafe Feb. 21st, 2009 – “Turlington’s Dog”) – The quality on this one is a bit jankity, I don’t remember if that’s my fault for encoding it wrong, or if the podcast came through that way. Either way I’m man enough to take the blame. Sorry! It’s still fire!
Nathan – Discarded Debris (Live: Vinyl Cafe Feb. 21st, 2009 – “Turlington’s Dog”) – Same deal with this one, but make sure to still give a listen because it’s got a theremin, and theremins are raw.
Tanya Davis – Art (Live: Vinyl Cafe, I forget when) – This “Art” sounds like a lucky guy. hur hur hur. Here’s a video of the album version:
Bonus Drippings
I also want to share a rad mixtape by called Farming the Steps, by a Victoria dubstep DJ called Gobe.
Internet drama update: I had been following a blog called Hypetrak until the author shut it down to apparently focus on studying for his bar exam, so now I’ve supplemented it with WeDoItRight, and they’ve been consistently supplying new jams for me while I’m at work. SUCH AS:
K-Os – I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman – Any excuse to listen to that OC theme without having to watch the show, right boyss?
Anecdotes + Stream of consciousness time:
The Birthday Massacre – Video Kid (Live) – this isn’t the video I wanted to link to for this post, but in the one I initially chose, you could hear the girl with the camera singing along. It was hilarious, but also irritating in a way.
Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Left 4 Dead, and I’ve also been hearing Metric‘s “Help I’m Alive” everywhere I go. When you think about the song in a zombie-survival context, the lyrics totally work. You can get an acoustic version of Help I’m Alive from the Metric website. I suggest using a fake email address.
Well I gotta go, I got blueberry jam on my bath towel.
Can’t help but leave for T
by Joyce on May.07, 2009
This little girl is going to Toronto on a business trip tomorrow and will be returning Sunday night, hence the Thursday post.
But you’re all probably super happy to get your bangers a little early. Destiny is on your side.
My 6 hour trip to Toronto obviously needs a groovin’ playlist and these following songs will DEFINITELY be on it. In fact, they already are.
I posted a song by Empire of the Sun aqwhile ( family guy? no?) ago and I really don’t need to explain why this following tune is a weekend banger. The shazam remix of We Are the People is so amazing. Seriously, just listen.
Original can be listened to here.

Goodbye ya’ll and hellloooooo Toronto.

Bangin’ in the Rain
by Joyce on May.02, 2009
Everyone enjoying the hot weather? Good. Cause it’s raining here right now.
But who says we can’t have fun in the rain?
Anoraak‘s Nightdrive With You. Just one word. smooth.
So, some of you might know the band Spiderbait because of their rendition of Black Betty. If you don’t then it’s not a really big deal but, I found this song by them and I honestly only listened to it because it had my name in it. And I actually like it, so I’m sharing it Joyce’s hut – Spiderbait.
I wonder why Spiderbait wanted to shed their old persona…
LOOT BAG:
The Energy Story -College feat. Minitel Rose
Enjoy the rain, even though it may not be raining where you are
