I’m so sunburnt, I’m practically writing this post from the ICU. I’ll try to keep this post short so I can go stick my head in the fridge.

Last night I saw Jesse Cook live in concert. It was super fresh, so I’ll start off with Mario Takes a Walk from back when his hair was hilarious.

I picked up the new Big Bad Voodoo Daddy album and bumped it a fair bit at work. – Big Bad Voodoo Daddy – Old Man of the Mountain
My aunt swears I look exactly like their sax player, while in actual fact I couldn’t look any LESS like him. To prove it: here’s a medley of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy songs in hiiiigh definiiiiition. The new album is called How Big Can You Get? – My attorney has advised me not to answer that.

I also picked up the new Chester French album, called Love the Future (which I do), and it’s just a grand honest time.

This song is called Time to Unwind. A suitably weekend-ish title.

I had it on in my car with Mr. Hudson and Asher Roth, but I’ll share some of that magic another time when I’m not BURNIN UP.

I’ve also had a few MIXTAPES in rotation over the past few weeks. So if I may do a bit of quick ‘TAPE TALK:

Big Sean has a new one out called UKNOWBIGSEAN, it sounds like he asked Ben to think of the title, but it’s decent. You can download it at uknowbigsean.com or look at his youtube channel and all that what-have-you.

I liked “Grind ’til the sunset, ’til my grandson’s set.”

The Kid Cudi banger I posted last week was from an unofficial new mixtape called Dat Kid From Cleveland, which can be scooped up from this unofficial Kid Cudi fan site. It’s got the song from the new Transformers, and BOTH of these mixtapes have a remix of “Rollin’”.

SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS:

Estrayk – Her Numbness

Flunk – Blue Monday – my favorite part of Blue Monday was always “I SEE A SHIP IN THE HARBOUR”

Shawn Chrystopher – Lethal Weapon

Let’s go and enjoy the sunshine RESPONSIBLY this time.

Weekend Bangers is a music blog written by three sexy young people from Canada. Each week, we try to post awesome songs to listen to on the weekend.

The songs posted on this blog aren't restricted to any particular genre, year or country. We basically post whatever we want, and that's part of what makes us so rad.

Mp3s and downloads are available for a limited time, and are for preview purposes only. If you like a track, support the artist by buying it.
