SMILE!!!!!!
by DMack on Jun.28, 2009
Things don’t always go as planned! Here’s some advice for those times when you find yourself buried up to your eyelids in ISSUES: SMILE.
Let’s listen to a few of the best songs from last week. This is Blue Lips, by Regina Spektor, from her new album “Far”.
Travis Barker and DJ AM have released their second TRV$/DJAM mixtape, Fix Your Face vol. 2 – Coachella ’09, online as a free download. Soo… Download Fix Your Face vol. 2. If you enjoyed the first one (which you can also download for free), then you’ll probably agree that this one destroys too.
ZANGY EXTRAS
Alchemist – Smile (feat. Twista & Maxwell) – I don’t know much about Alchemist but I encourage you to get caught off guard by Twista’s verse.
Two Door Cinema Club – Something Good Can Work
Thank you for reading my post, you’re magnificent!
Pretty Young Thing
by Joyce on Jun.26, 2009
Well this has been a historical week hasn’t it? That’s all I can honestly say about this recent event.
So many blogs are probably posting Michael Jackson bangers but that aint stopping me. We probably wouldn’t have the awesome bangers we have today if it wasn’t for his unimaginable influence. Although he’s gone at 50 his musical landmark will literally live on forever.
PYT(Pretty Young Thing) is probably one of my favorite songs and i’ve been singing it pretty much none stop.
Michael Jackson – PYT(Pretty Young Thing) [mp3]
I’m pretty sure that’ll do
.
Oh wait, and here’s the Indian Thriller.

Summer Sweats
by Joyce on Jun.20, 2009
Hello Err’body. Everyone enjoying the summer? I know I am but DAMN it’s getting TOO hot.
Don’t get it wrong though cause I’m not complaining.
For a celebration of months of cutting our lips on Freezies, also known as Freeze pops for American’s like Ben, here are some fine Bangers.
The Wilderness Crew are a band that I somewhat recently discovered and I find that they have an appropriate vibe for some summer chillin’ outside in the backyard…unless you don’t have a backyard then you can just chill on the front lawn.
Here are the Wilderness Crew with Widen Your Eyelids
DUH, I have more.

PRINTER JAM!
by DMack on Jun.20, 2009
I just came home from a record store where I saw a mixtape/street album on sale for $26.99. I think that’s GROSS so It’s time for an emergency edition of TAPE TALK
The Kickdrums have put out an awesome ep/mixtape called Just A Game, which is an indie-rock departure from their equally-awesome hiphop production and remixing. You can listen to samples or download it for free at OnSmash.
They’ve also got a rad hiphop tape called Smash The System, which can be scooped up here.
I’d like to share the video for Mistabishi – Printer Jam, which I was listening to last weekend while I was waiting for BEARS to cross the road in front of my car. It’s got printer sounds and crazy 90′s-looking cgi that reminds me of Reboot.
Nobody’s going to download those albums so I’ll give you one more song:
The Cat Empire – The Lost Song (live)
Stay delicious.
Head Shots
by Joyce on Jun.13, 2009
I really love the sound that Bat For Lashes has adopted. The lead singer has a really enchanting and captivating voice.
The band just recently put out their album Two Suns and it’s a must hear. I can’t get enough of the song Daniel which is the first single off their album. I also recommend listening to Glass and Moon and Moon.
Bat for Lashes is also giving out an exclusive free download of the Daniel (Tara Busch’s AnalogSuicide Remix).mp3 on their website you just need to sign up. you can listen to it here on youtube.
AnalogSuicide also put out a 9 part documentary on the making of the remix for people like Duncan. It’s the action behind the magic.

GONE FISHING!

I’m getting an early start on the weekend this week, so this will have to do!
I’m pretty sure nobody looks at my posts anyway
IRRATIONAL EXUBERANCE!
by DMack on Jun.07, 2009
Hey! I’m about to go to bed, but I have a couple tracks I want to share first.
The Parachute Ending is a song by Birdy Nam Nam with a video that’s as weird as heck. It sounds sort of like Justice, and looks sort of like what would happen if TRON and the original animated Transformers movie had a three-way with that old cartoon “Captain Star”.
After that bizzaro video, here’s one that’s totally normal. This is The Rose and Her Prince by HEARTSREVOLUTION, off the recently-released Kitsuné Maison 7 compilation.
The rest of these are only for people who like jellybeans
Calvin Harris – I’m Not Alone (Doorly remix)
T.I. – Hell of a Life @ allhiphop, it flows a lot like “No Matter What”, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad
Sleep tight
Traveling Through Sound
by Joyce on Jun.06, 2009
Got a low budget? Well these tunes are perfect for taking you on a lil vacation through imagery and sound.
Before I post my songs though can I just say that having an office job is so utterly and completely boring.
I’m glad this is only going to be a summer job cause I honestly probably couldn’t take more than 4 months of this.
On the more tasteful side of news, go listen to Fleet Foxes‘ Sun Giant album. You will not be disappointed. I’ve been listening to the song Mykonos pretty much since the moment I heard it.
You know what’s another great band? Band of Horses.
The other day I was driving my brother, who pretty much only listens to rap, and as the song Funeral came on I’m pretty sure it totally blew his mind and widened his horizons haha. Now his ipod is filled with a diversity of tunes and is not just limited to one genre. So thank you Band of Horses? It was like magic.
I chose to share a video of a live performance of Funeral because they’re just really good live.
You can go download the Funeral mp3 for free on the bands website here.
Band of Horses – Is There a Ghost – I love this song also
Now we can’t complete the week without some Brooklyn based indie rock From Grizzly Bear’s Yellow Knife album (I was gonna make a Canadian territory joke but decided not to) On a Neck, on a spit is probably one of my favorites off the album.
Grizzly Bear – On a Neck, on a Spit
Grizzly Bear – Knife
70′s DISCO LOVE MAKING
Also, my excuse for not posting anything last week is fairly simple. I didn’t have anything to post. This blog is about quality people! I aint just gonna post any random shit. Think about it.
Hugs’n'Kesses

Hi Friends, I have nothing clever to say so here’s one of my old weekend bangers I never got a chance to post. It’s another cover, but whateves…I think I like her version more anyways. Enjoy Moriarty’s cover of Enjoy the Silence.
