WE DON’T STOP, CUZ WE GOT A.D.D.!!!
by DMack on Sep.26, 2009
MAN! On days like today, it’s good to take some time to appreciate the countless beautiful things we experience every day. Here are five of those things!
Let’s start with a video from Victoria’s own Immaculate Machine, this is called C’mon Sea Legs, and it’s pretty clearly about dealing with changes in one’s life. They use a lot of nautical metaphors to get their point across, which is fitting for a band from the BEEE-YOOTIFUL coastal city of Victoria.
Melissa Czarnik is a talented lady-rapper from Wisconsin. I know not everybody here likes to mess with hiphop too much, but I urge you to give her some attention. Her tracks are light and lyrical, Thunder Summer Storm is closer in style to the work of Regina Spektor than, say, Ice Cube. Download Melissa Czarnik – Thunder Summer Storm @ Zshare.
I missed the chance to share musics last weekend because I was in Vancouver, sweating with Girl Talk. Raw!
Mr. Hudson – White Lies – video for the new single, album out Oct. 22!
XV – ADD – easy to spell, off the Everybody’s Nobody mixtape
Birdy Nam Nam – Absesses
Seeya next week. Make bedroom eyes, not war.
Guess what?

Marina and the Diamonds put out a new video for her song I’m not a robot. I like it.
Her Crown Jewels EP is out now and available for download via her website. I’m not surprised that I’m posting another one of her songs cause there’s something about Miss Marina’s voice that just makes her style so right.

Metal Appreciation
by Joyce on Sep.21, 2009
Gimme my metal! It’s been a really long time since I posted some metal and I feel horrible about it.
As an apology, I give you Venom’s Countess Bathory , possibly one of the greatest old school Thrash metal bands out there. It comes off of their Black Metal Album which is a must hear for metal fans.
A little more Thrash with a dash of Grind
Metal Church – Crawling to Extinction [youtube]
Sepsism – Suffering The Inconceivable [youtube]
It seems that I’m basically only able to find online Metal songs on bands’ myspaces or youtube…I will try to fix this in the future…
Anyways, with that said I’m off to read a book.
Where the Wild Things Are
by Annie on Sep.13, 2009
Hello! It’s been a long break for me, I know. But life has been busy. So I don’t know if anyone else wants to watch Where the Wild Things Are as much as I do but I certainly remember reading this book back in elementary school. Anyone else? I think that the Arcade Fire’s Wake-Up goes with the movie so well and I’ve been listening to it non-stop for a couple days now.
I also died a little when I learned that Amiina has their new album out. These girls are amazing and the music that they produce is perfection. Although the new album only has 3 tracks I had difficultly finding the song I wanted to post. So instead I posting, Ásinn, one of their new songs. But if you do decide to look into it or purchase their new cd I highly suggest Risturinn.
Let your mind run free

I can’t get enough of The Knife’s Karin Dreijer Andersson’s solo project Fever Ray. The song If I had a Heart is dark yet has that tribal vibe (which is basically the entire album) that makes you want to close your eyes and let your mind run free. I kind of want to call it smooth metal because of the imagery it gives but I think i’m digging too deep haha.
I friggin’ love the skeleton make-up look in this video.
Definitely check out Fever Ray’s Triangle Walks and Seven.
Add some color to your imagination

NO TROUBLE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!
by DMack on Sep.05, 2009
September here kids. The summer’s wrapping up really fast, and I’m sorry to see it go but ONWARD AND UPWARD! Q4 2009! Let’s do this thing!
Anamanaguchi is playing RIGHT NOW at the Penny Aracade festival in Seattle. I’d love to see them perform live, but I bet the crowd at PAX would smell funny and be unpleasantly warm. Let’s enjoy them at a safe distance; This is Anamanaguchi – Dawn Metropolis. You can hear the guitar pretty well in this track, a nice touch that sets them apart from strictly-chiptunes outfits.
Bcee makes groovy mellow D&B tracks, and I want to share one called Generations: the title track off his 2009 EP. I heard it described as a “deeper, more chilled kind of track that probably wouldn’t do too well on the dance floor”. I liked that description because you could probably say the same about me. HAH. Listen to Bcee – Generations @ zshare.
I also really like this Chairlift – Bruises (Passion Pit remix), and I bet you will too. Enjoy the rest of your long weekend!
Love is like a stubborn youth
by Joyce on Sep.05, 2009
I don’t know how long we’ve listened to this song over here at Weekend Bangers yet we still haven’t posted it. This is very irresponsible and selfish on our part. This is one of the finest La Roux remixes that I’ve heard so far.
I’m not your Toy (Data Remix) also comes pretty close though.
