BRUTAL WEAPONS!!!!

by DMack on Nov.27, 2009

Guess what, everyBODY. Slagsmålsklubben has a new single out! SMK has released a new track called Brutal Weapons on the French electro label Kitsuné. The new single is also on the “Kitsuné Maison 8″ compilation, which just came out on the 16th or so. You can hear little bits of the entire album here.

Travis Barker destroyed Drake’s “Forever” with one of his signature BEASTLY live drum tracks.

Travis slays the cymbals during Weezy’s verse at around the 4 minute mark.

DON’T DINK AND DRANCE!!

by DMack on Nov.25, 2009

Here’s a little mid-week beat SNACK for you. This is The Devil Wears PradaDon’t Dink and Drance, from their 2007 album, “Plagues”. I picked this record up some time last year and had it on my playlist at work. I hadn’t heard it since I changed jobs, and when I heard they were touring with Enter Shikari I decided to put it back in rotation. TDWP released another album this year called “With Roots Above and Branches Below”, and it’s ssssssstrong.

There’s a massive sub-bass drop about 55 seconds in, right before the breakdown. It doesn’t sound as good on this Youtube embed (the volume is really wacky and unbalanced), so you’ll have to pick up the album to hear that menacing rummbbbllleeeee.

THERE’S A COLDNESS IN THE AIR… AND I DON’T CARE!

by DMack on Nov.22, 2009

Oh boy oh boy. My ears were all messed up from seeing The Misfits last weekend, and I wasn’t messing with any tunes at all for a while. On Sunday I felt like I should give you something but my power went out! Next thing I know it’s a week later already. Anyway, enough EXCUSES!

I heard this track for the first time a couple of weeks ago, Austin Speed & Calculon cleverly weave a mellow dubstep bassline into a trance song that’s already ridiculously mellow. This is rainy day music.
Motorcycle – As The Rush Comes (Austin Speed & Calculon remix)

This will have to do for now, I’m gonna go to bed!

CATCHING UP!

by DMack on Nov.11, 2009

Oh my days, things have sure been busy around the DMack Empire headquarters. Here are a few mid-week cold cuts to keep everything grimy.

Freddie Gibbs – Murda On My Mind

Freddie Gibbs is a rapper I actually don’t know anything about. I forget how I first saw this video but I definitely marked it down as something I wanted to share. Keep an eye on this boy!

Glam.I.Rock is Bay Area artist that I got into semi-recently. She makes kinda smooth, dancy electro-hop. GLAM stands for “Good lyrics and music”, and apparently she’s got a mixtape about to drop so look forward to hearing more from Glam.I.Rock soon. Here’s “Empty Ave

Keepin’ it pithy! Hopefully I can drop some more heat on you this weekend! To quote the excellent Merlin Mann; “A to-do list is a pocket, not an attic.” Friggin’ sweat on my BROW here.
