WHEN WE MOVE TOGETHER!!!

by on Nov.28, 2010

Have you cats seen the video for Klaxons – Twin Flames? It’s pretty original. Disturbing, sure, but original.

Klaxons – Twin Flames (NSFW)

Equally trippy, but far less nightmarish is the video for Ratatat’s Neckbrace.

Ratatat – Neckbrace

Some random footage of birds is used to great effect here, as an almost fluid-looking backdrop for some cheap greenscreen loops of the guys playing.

SON OF A GUN!!!!!!!

by on Nov.22, 2010

There’s finally a video out for Oh Land’s catchy single Son of a Gun. Thanks to some costume and lighting changes, the video is at once scary and pretty.

JJ also has a new video out, for You Know. An acoustic guitar keeps the pace with the drum machine in this smooth one from “No. 3”.

They’re way too young to be fallin’ in love. QUIT IT.

I should also mention that JJ put out a new single for free on the Sincerely Yours website. It’s called Let Them, as in “Let ‘em talk”, the T.I. banger. The B-side, I’m the one / Money on My Mind borrows a beat from The XX for the first half, and lyrics from Weezy on the second half. If it sounds amazing, that’s because it is.

I FEEL LIGHTER!!!!

Team Me has done a pretty rad thing to promote their single Weathervanes and Chemicals. They put together a pretty basic flash game that is exactly as long as the game. It’s a pretty genius way to keep somebody engaged while your song plays. The goal of the game is to simply get home (ideally without using chemicals), and the gameplay is so basic it won’t distract you from the music. You’ll play through it at least twice. If you dig the chune, you can check out their live video here, filmed in the style of a Blogotheque take-away show.

LIGHTS ON!!!!!

by on Nov.09, 2010

So HECTIC. “Weekend becomes so-hectic”, that would be the name of my radio show about how hectic shit is. Pretend I posted this on Friday, ok?

The video for Lights On, by Katy B feat. Ms. Dynamite is mighty fine. Ms. B and Ms. D are great together, and I love the idea that Katy B hangs out in the club wearing basically pyjamas. I guess anybody’s outfit would look plain next to Ms. Dynamite, though. I don’t know where I’m going with this… See you next weekend!

I SAID KANON!!!!!!!

by on Nov.03, 2010

Australian electro-punk outfit The Death Set has a cool video for their cover of Daedelus’ Fair Weather Friends, which they may or may not have called “Far Weathered Friends”. The video is done with paper cutouts of pen and ink drawings, and watercolour paintings of weird things. Well, either that or they made it look that way with a magical computer. The song’s really catchy either way.

YOU CAN’T CONTAIN US!!!!!!!!!!

The boys from Osaka horrorpunk outfit Balzac are in fine form in their video for Blackened, the first single from their new JUDGEMENT DAY album.

I’ve got it in heavy rotation, along with THIS:

Enter Shikari’s new video for Destabilise has it ALL; big drops, hilarious dancing, and colour separation (2010’s favorite video effect).
