GVCCI ASS BITCH
by DMack on Apr.30, 2011
Occult jam-crafter †‡†, aka RITUALZ recently released a compilation of GHETTO ASS WITCH (feat. GVCCI HVCCI) remixes on his bandcamp, and it’s FANTASTIC.
The pay-what-you-want download includes 7 remixes, each one darker and more trippy than the last. The title track on RITUALZ’ new album, GHETTO ASS WITCH sounded to me like it could be the soundtrack for some kind of post-apocalyptic Zdzislaw Beksinski version of Starfox FX. My favorite mix in the collection might be the “Vagina Vangi remix”; which bludgeons you with blown-out hoovers for the duration, but in a good way.
Hit up RITUALZ on Bandcamp to download GHETTO ASS WITCH – REMIXES VOL. 1 and pick up his album while you’re at it.
FORMIDABLE!!!!!!
by DMack on Apr.22, 2011
I’ve been digging The Joy Formidable since last year when I first heard them on this very site. Worlds collided in January when ROUT (AKA Enter Shikari frontman Rou Reynolds) remixed their awesome single Austere.
The Joy Formidable – Austere (ROUT remix) from Steve Orchard on Vimeo.
The catchy vocals ride a wave of slow, crunchy wobble while the excellent video shows a compilation of various ritual dances.
BUTTERY NIPPLES!!!!!

A DJ called Rocky Horror made a dance mixtape with samples from one of my favorite podcasts! It came out a little while ago, but it was only available for a limited time and now it’s BACK.
My Brother My Brother and Me is basically a fake-advice comedy podcast hosted by 3 brothers. They read questions from listeners, as well as weirdos on Yahoo Answers, and offer their sage wisdom and guidance.
The mixtape is really well done, and it answers the ages-old question, “Exactly how can I get horny?”.
Last Night
by Joyce on Apr.16, 2011
One of the ways I discover music is actually by clicking through youtube videos and seeing where I end up. It’s more of a game really but last night I started by listening to some Lykke Li and somehow ended up finding this sweet drum and bass tune by a band called the Brookes Brothers.
The two brothers hail from the UK and, as it turns out, have been on the music scene since 2002. Check out their facebook and myspace pages to learn more and hear some more great stuff.
Here’s Last Night, just one of the duo’s SOLID DnB tracks
Another sweet gem I found was this smooth track called Empty Streets by Cyantific who coincidently also hails from the UK. Turns out there’s some pretty sick DnB dj’s from good ol’ England incase you weren’t aware.
Anyways, this is a big tune so check it out!
SO GOOD IT’S A CRIME!!!

Did you guys know mc chris did a song about Twin Peaks? He releases a single online every year for April Fools, and this was actually last year’s, but I just heard it for the first time this month when I heard his AMAZING new mini-album and thought “what has that boy been UP to?”.
Buy mc chris – Twin Peaks from his Bandcamp, it’s 20 cents and it’s soooo gooood!
This year’s April 1 release was a curse-laden rhyme about Quentin Tarantino called QT. It doesn’t have an outstanding fan video yet, though!
HAPPINESS MACHINES!!!!
by DMack on Apr.10, 2011
I forgot to mention this when I first heard it, but I love this song.
Moscow Youth Cult – Girls of Boredom (live)
It’s a dark friendship of 80’s synthpop, chiptunes, and noisy electro-goth-whatever. Join the youth cult on the dancefloor! This song is off of their “Happiness Machines” LP, which I don’t know the release date for… “Later 2011” was all I could find. In the mean time, you can check out their debut EP “Colours Seep Out” for free.

SWEET SILVER PANTS!!!!
by DMack on Apr.01, 2011
This song is called ツチノコ (Tsuchinoko) by 画家 (Gaka). I know nothing about them beyond what I can gleam from this video and its Youtube description – sooooo, they are a Japanese instrumental jam-band with 16 members. The video is done with a single stationary camera, and some awesome silver pants.
